Teaching:

At four levels: A) Beginner B) Intermediate C) Advanced D) Superior. Instruction is generally one teacher to one student, however, group instruction also can be arranged. The instruction is based on grammar and conversation in which you will be strongly encouraged to speak only in Spanish. After a short interview exam, we will place you at the correct level.

Teachers:

Consist of a group of ex-teachers from the Peace Corps, with great experience in the field and authorized by the Education Ministry and the Guatemalan Tourist Commission (INGUAT).

Classes:

Are held from Monday through Friday 8:00 to 12:00 and/or from 2:00 to 6:00 but special arrangements can be made if this is not convenient for you. We offer a flexible schedule to meet your personal need. In order to achieve a better knowledge about the language and Guatemalan culture and we also combine recreational, cultural and educational activities along with the Spanish program.

The School:

We offer intensive Spanish classes for students and travelers who want to learn Latin American Spanish and for those professions requiring Spanish ability. The school has two locations, one in Antigua and the other in San Juan del Obispo (small village 15 minutes from Antigua) which is recommended for those seeking a total immersion in the language and culture. The global method used by APPE has been successfully used by the Peace Corps in Central and South America. The global method introduces the techniques:
-Visual - Auditory - Verbal - with related knowledge and activities.

Housing families:

You will live the language while staying with a Guatemalan family. You will have a private room, hot water, three meals a days, except on Sundays. For more information click here

Certificate of study:

At the end of the study period, we will give you a certificate for time studied.
