Description
Day care centre for very poor children whose parents have alcohol problems or are single parents. On average, there are 20 children per project from 0 to 6 years old. Usually the centre is in another family's home. Although there will be at least one other woman to help you with the children, most of the activities will have to come from your own initiative! Realise that most of these projects are relatively poor, so the circumstances you will be working in are not always as clean as you are used to.

Activities
Working as assistant teacher for kindergarten children, help with the duties of the house and organise educational and recreational activities such as: singing songs, drawing pictures, dancing, help with serving food etc.

Minimum: 4 weeks
Spanish: intermediate
Schedule: 8.30 am - 1.00 pm
Capacity: Depending on the amount of children one or two volunteers per project.

Santa Lucia Milpas Altas, 15 kilometers from Antigua
Santo Tomas Milpas Altas, 17 kilometers from Antigua
Magdalena Milpas Altas, 19 kilometers from Antigua
San Lucas, 20 kilometers from Antigua
Cuidad Vieja, 5 kilometers from Antigua

It is possible to live in all these towns or in Antigua. Except for Cuidad Viaje, where living in Antigua is the only possibility.
